Dr. Amoncho Adiko, Director of research and development support programs and his team of researchers have developed the Technique of plants from fragments of stems (PIF).
Thanks to the PIF technique developed by the African Center of research on bananas and Plantains (CARBAP) in Cameroon, it is possible to produce mass and outside the scope of the healthy material 03-04 months and at any time of the year.
The multiplication of releases by the PIF technical conducted under special conditions is done in two ways: either to regenerate a young plant from a fragment of stem or to provoque proliferations from which will develop many young plants to form a banana plantation.
You can have a hundred of plants from a single rejection. As an example, a space of 200 m2 can produce between 30,000 and 100,000 vivo plants to the culture in vitro; between FCFA 100,000 and 400,000 CFA.
