Signature of the agreement between Togo et WB

The project for urban infrastructure development (PIDU) is implemented by Togolese government and Word Bank to improve the access of populations to urban infrastructure and basic services in underserved neighborhoods of Atakpame, Dapaong, Lome, Kara, Kpalime, Sokode and Tsévie.

According to Mrs. Wague, the representative resident of Word Bank in Lome, “the choice of the urban area is due to both the role played by cities in the development of the country and also to the challenges they are facing”.

As she said, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to have among other things, access to basic infrastructures and services at the end of the project by December 2023.

Yaya Sani, the minister of economy and finance, assured the World Bank of a good use of the resources referring to the clauses contained in the funding agreement.
